Last night we were invited to the Stakers. Since Staker is the new Stake President, he and Shannon decided to have all of the bishoprics over so they could get to know each one better. Well they know us, so instead of getting to know us, we chatted. I learned that while I was teaching my first 2 years they had me on a list of teachers they were considering for their daughter. But then I moved and Greg said he was bummed because I had to be taken off of the list. The year I came back and taught we moved into their neighborhood. They didn't realize that I was the teacher that moved. By then they had already picked a different teacher,(one I want for Emma next year), but what a compliment to be on the list! Especially since they pick which classes their girls are in each year, they want the best!
While we were there they shared with us 2 things their family does each Sunday night.
#1 Compliment time. Someone starts and they decide if they want to give or receive a compliment. If they want to give, they pick another person and give them a specific compliment. If they want to receive one, everyone that wants to give them a compliment raises their hands and the person gets to pick who gives them a specific compliment. THen it goes to the next person, the person that was picked to give or receive the last compliment.
#2 Stump the chump
I was a prophet
I cried repentance to the people
No one listened
I built an ark
The rain came and flooded the earth
ETC.
Then everyone else guesses or you assign who the Stump the Chump question is for.
My kids loved both of them!!
Then we had cinnamon rolls, Yum!!
