Emma is in Mrs. Gordon's class this year. It is her first year as a classroom teacher, but I taught with her about 10 years ago before I had any kids, she was the music teacher then.

Fall Asleep At Your Own Risk

Dusty was tired from all of his hard work. Working full time at the hospital, working full time farming, and a full time dad(as you can see). He fell asleep in the library so Allie crawled all over him as Nathan tied him up.

Emma passed Level 2 with flying colors. Her teacher said that she thought Emma's mom must have put Emma in the wrong level because she could swim so great. Ready for Level 3!

Allie and I did Mom & Me. At the beginning of the summer she was fearful of the water and slowly got comfortable with the baby pool and the ramp. I thought mom & me would be fun to get her comfortable and to let her do swimming lessons too.

I told her to show me her certificate and to smile, and this is what I got.

Manda and Luke!

So tonight we got a phone call from Manda. Last week we called Manda, Emma asked her what she was getting me for my birthday(I put her up to it). Then I told Manda that all I wanted was a brother-in-law for my birthday. She said she would tell Luke. So when she called tonight I aked her if she got me what I wanted for my birthday. She avoided the question by saying, "Can't I just call to tell you Happy Late Birthday?" Then she wanted to talk to Dusty. She is getting married! Luke proposed tonight. They said December they were going to tie the knot here in Utah. Congrats!! We are so excited!

Dusty was making pickled beets. He got the beets into the pressure cooker and then started making the sugar/vinegar juice that goes into the cans. He read the directions and thought he was supposed to boil the juice for 30 minutes but instead he was supposed to bring it to a boil. When he was ready to use the juice he noticed it was really thick. He said it looked like candy so he tried it and it was really good. So he decided to make suckers, taffy, and candies out of it. How funny! I would have thrown it away. Now we have treats for Family Home Evening tonight.
