Blackmail

Nathan was teasing Emma, something that happens all to often in our home. Emma was so upset that he wouldn't give her her tutu. She was in tears and Nathan thought it was great. It's to bad that he doesn't realize that when he gets to highschool he won't find himself in a tutu as funny as he once thought.

Sandwiches

Every night when we are getting ready for bed our kids get their pjs on, brush their teeth, we read scriptures, and say family prayers. Then they take the couch cushions and make themselves into sandwiches. They love to do this. Kids are so easily entertained.

Boy's Night

Last night Dusty and our next door neighbor, Mike, went to the priesthood session of General Conference. So Emma went to play with Lynnlee and Alec came over to play with Nathan (Alec and Lynnlee are Mike and Raquel's kids). Emma was excited to have a girl;s night and so the boy's thought they should have a boy's night. Alec and Nathan are both all Boy, however, they fought over the baby Alec is holding.
They played leap frog's.

They also played with Allie.

My prince

After getting their pj's on my kids decided to play. Emma as usual decided to play princess. Nathan said that if Emma could be a princess that he could be a prince. He also said he was a hero with his cape. The cape is from Emma's Snow White costume but don't tell him that.

Hannah Montana

Tonight Dusty had to work so I thought it would be fun to have a movie night with my kids. Emma picked Hannah Montana a definate must see (if you are 14 or under). At the very end she sings 2 of her songs and Emma decided to move the coffee table so she could entertain us with her dancing and singing skills. It was fun and they had a ball. Nathan joined in but his idea of dancing was to jump off the table.
Sing it girl!

Rodeo - Round 2

Last night Dusty shoed his horse, Renegade and Sage. Afterwards he wanted to saddle them up and take the kids for a ride. I was nervous but I trust Dusty completely. It was about 7pm when the kids went outside and already starting to get dark. I was cleaning up from dinner and as I was going into the family room to watch the VP debate I saw them ride by, out of the window by the front door. I went to see how things were going. As I looked out I saw Sage backing up and not going where he was supposed to. This made Renegade jump in the air. It scared me to death, my precious baby was on that horse. Just a quick note, Nathan and Dusty were on Renegade and Emma was on Sage which was led with a lead rope by Dusty. Everyone stayed calm. So now I'm worried about what else these horses were going to do. Dusty went into the field behind our house and quickly it got to dark for me to even see them. They were gone for awhile and I was worried something happened because who would take 2 kids on 2 inexperienced horses in the dark? Dusty would. I was outside in my backyard with all of the lights on trying to see them or hear them when I finally heard them come riding up. Emma jumped off her horse and came running to tell me how her horse was running while she was on it and was so much fun. As we walked to the house and came into the light I saw her face, blood was everywhere. OMG what happened? Dusty and Nathan got home and he told me that they came to a ditch and his horse walked down and then up it. Emma's horse decided to jump it. As it jumped she got bounced out of the saddle onto it's bum and then fell off and that is when she got a nose bleed. Then they came to another ditch and Nathan's boots fell off and Emma's horse jumped again but this time the lead rope got jerked out of Dusty's hand and the horse took off running for over 100 yards. Emma not only stayed on but got control of the horse and stopped it. She came home smiling from ear to ear and was so proud of herself. Dusty and I were so proud of her too!!! She is ready to go again, but I'm not sure I'm ready!

Rodeo

Today Dustin, Nathan , and I were taking our horses to another field. Nathan wanted to ride so I through him up on Sage (on the left) bareback. Dustin decided to ride also. As he jumped on his horse, Renagade (the buckskin on the right), it spooked Sage and he bucked. Nathan was holding on for dear life. He bucked again and Nathan came tumbling to the ground. I had a hold of the reigns but I had to snatch Nathan by his shirt to get him out of the way so the horse wouldn't step on him. Once the horse stopped jumping around and calmed down, I made sure my baby was alright. There were no tears and he was ready to ride again, however, this time he rode on the other horse with Dusty. I told Nathan he could be in the rodeo and he thought that was pretty cool.
