MRC Saturday October 17

Saturday was an ocean day. We were on the boat headed back to L.A. So we headed down to the ice rink to do a little ice skating. We climbed the rock wall, hung out by the pool, and took a nap. It was so relaxing.

Our dining room, it was so fancy and 3 stories high. The last night all of the staff sang to us.

MRC Friday October 16

We were Cabo San Lucas on Friday. We had to ferry over to the dock so we had to get in line first because we were worried we would miss our 8:30 appointment to go snorkeling. We were one of the first people in line and then I realized I didn't have my cabin card. It allows you to get off the ship but most importantly back on. I left it in my room, so I had to get Dusty's and then go back to the 8th floor and then get back down as fast as I could. It was the most stressful part of our trip. I had Dusty's card so he waited for me while Les & Misty went ahead to tell them we were on our way. We got on the ferry and it wasn't even full. We got to the dock with time to spare.

We headed out and on our way we passed by "Lover's Beach".

We also saw the "Window to the Pacific."

This is also the famous arch that Cabo is known for, just like Utah's natural arches.

This is a colony of sea lions. They like to relax, my kind of animals!

We went to this restaurant in the city. Les & Misty heard about it and it was so good. They had the best guacamole I have ever had. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it! We had a little adventure trying to find our way back to the dock but we made it. We found a mall! We had to do a little shopping for our family and friends so all was good. Then we took a cab back to the dock and did a little shopping at the outside shops.

Time to get back on the boat. We were pretty tired.

Friday night was the formal night. The food was so good every night but Friday was the best! We had lobster and more lobster and more lobster tail.

MRC Thursday October 15

Our boat Mariner of the Seas. It was 14 stories high. The buffet was on the 11th floor, dining room on the 3rd, our stateroom was on the 8th, and the pool on the 11th. We walked up and down a lot of stairs!

A lady came up to Dusty and put this bird on his shoulder. I guess that is how she makes money, from tips.

This was one of our favorite things that we did. We went on a Canopy Adventure. It was 3 hours of zip lining through the jungle. We took an hour jeep ride into the jungle.

We had to repeal 2 times. I think if I had known that I might have reconsidered doing this. We got to the repealing platform and there was no other way down. I was scared to death but Dusty cheered me on. Half way down I decided it was fun and not so scary. On the second repeal it was fun.
We had to climg a 70 foot ladder. They told us that if we start up we had to finish. We could have walked up a trail but we decided to go straight up the ladder.
On the ride home we saw a Mormon church. We took a picture to show our kids. How awesome it is to have the exact same gospel all over world. On our way home from our jungle experience.

MRC Wednesday October 14

MAZATLAN, MEXICO

We got up early, got breakfast, and then headed to the first floor to get off the boat. We went on a bus tour up into the Sierra Madre Mountains. On our way up the mountain we stopped by a brick yard where a man and his family mixed mud by hand and hauled it to where he was making bricks. He used a wood frame to make the bricks. For every 1,000 bricks he made he earned $35.We continued on to a furniture factory. The furniture was handmade. They did have machinery but the building was open with a roof and a cement floor. Chickens ran through it. While we were there they tried very hard to sell the little things that they had made. Next we went to Concordea. It was one of two mining towns we went to. It had a population of about 10,000 people, I think. The homes were small, bars were on every window, and animals roamed the streets. It was a nice town but would not have been in America. We went to the church, saw the children's primary school, and walked through the town.

These two towns mined gold and silver. Silver is pretty cheap in Mexico. Next we headed to Capala. It was a small town of 600. The streets were not paved but lined with stones. The houses were small but clean. Every child went to school. We walked through the town square.


We went into a shop that had masks. The man made them out of leather.

We went into the church. Awhile ago it started caving in so they didn't let people in but later tried to fix it by putting rebar in to support it.

We ate at a little Mexican restaurant . A Mexican trio serenaded us as we ate. The food was okay but very bland. Mashed potatoes were in the taco, odd. The salsa consisted of chopped tomatoes, onion, green peppers, and jalapeno peppers, it wasn't liquidy at all. We were told to stay away from Mexican water so we got bottled drinks. They use the same glass bottles over and over like back in the day. We left and headed back down the mountain. We stopped in Mazatlan on a strip by the beach to do a little shopping. We walked around to see what they had to sell and we ended up on the beach. There were so many people selling things. They carried their merchandise and kept asking if we wanted to buy their items. We kept saying "no gracias" but we did see a few things that we liked. So we negotiated and bought a puppet, purse, and sunglasses. Next we went to a flea market and headed back to the ship.

MRC Tuesday Oct 13

AT SEA

We got up to eat and then I went to go walk on the deck. I was warm and starting to get sticky, HUMIDITY! My skin loved it! We went upstairs to play cards and relax. After lunch the boat started rocking. Tropical storm Patricia was headed to Cabo so instead of going on Tuesday they changed our stop to Friday. The boys didn't feel so well and we were tired from staying up so late, so we decided it was a perfect time to catch up on some needed sleep. It was a great day to relax!On the boat as we sail by Cabo.
